UPMC Physician Services is seeking a full-time physician assistant to work daylight, Monday through Friday, with a physician practice located in the Shadyside area. This individual will be responsible for providing medical care to patients as delegated by a physician in an inpatient or outpatient setting.  The physician assistant will assess patient health status; provide acute and chronic patient care including taking medical histories, perform physicals, monitor therapies, give injections and medications, triage patient calls and evaluate patient problems while educating patients and families as appropriate. 

Applicants must be graduates of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA).  A BS or MS is preferred.  Experience as physician assistant or experience in a clinical setting is desired. Current Pennsylvania licensure and certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is also necessary. Neurosurgical experience is preferred.  This individual must be able to travel between multiple clinics at least 3 days per week.

DESCRIPTION
We have an immediate opening in our Allied Health Department for a Night Trauma Physician Assistant to cover our Methodist Hospital ER Call in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The schedule for this position alternates between one 24 hour-week followed by one 56 hour week.  This position will assist the On Call Neurosurgeon with ER Triage, Rounds, Patient Medical Records, and will Triage Patient and Staff calls.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants must be eligible for an Indiana License with Prescriptive Authority and be Board Certified. One year of previous critical care experience preferred but not required. Motivated applicants who are able to work well under pressure in the fast paced trauma setting will be most successful in this position.

Orthopaedic Group seeks a full-time Physician Assistant.  The position is a combination of OR and Clinic and has minimal weekend call (if any).  The new PA will work directly with an Orthopaedic Surgeon that has a high volume orthopaedic practice.  Responsibilities include:  patient evaluations and education, removing casts and pins, consultation, ordering and reviewing lab tests, writing scripts, rounds, injections and first assists.  The new PA will have the opportunity to run a clinic.  Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified.  All new graduates that have a strong desire for orthopaedics will be strongly considered for this position.
