The Emergency Department is currently seeking experienced Physician Assistants. Our Physician Assistants work with other Emergency Department health care team members providing comprehensive primary care by obtaining patient history, conducting physician examinations and treatment, ordering laboratory and diagnostic tests, consulting and referring as appropriate while maintaining responsibility for the acute care clinical management of the patient.

Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center (DF/BWCC), a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliates, seeks Physician Assistants to join the DF/BWCC Pain & Palliative Care Team (PPCT). We are opening an Intensive Palliative Care Unit (IPCU) at the Brigham & Women's Hospital and will be able to offer PA's an exciting, direct care, medical management role as a member of the interdisciplinary team, and opportunities to learn from leading Palliative Medicine specialists and nationally known educators. 

The Intensive Palliative Care Unit (IPCU) Physician Assistant (PA), is responsible for assisting the inpatient Palliative Care Program attending physicians and fellows in the medical management and palliative care of IPCU patients and in the palliative care consult service; and in addition, will provide cross-coverage care for Hematology Oncology and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant patients and patients admitted for elective chemotherapy. The IPCU will provide specialized, expert care for patients with advanced cancers with complex palliative care needs. 

The PA is a member of the interdisciplinary team, and as such, works with clinicians from social work, nursing, chaplaincy, care coordination, and psychiatry. The PA is expected to develop basic knowledge of hematologic oncology and solid tumor oncology as disease processes and to develop expertise in palliative care modalities, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic techniques for relieving physical, psychological, social, and spiritual/existential distress and communication skills for working with patients with cancer and their families. The PA will also become familiar with general internal medicine and
medical complications commonly seen in our oncology patients with palliative care needs. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are
required. Knowledge of current literature and a commitment to continued learning are also required.

Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists of Middletown, Inc. is the oldest continuous practice in Middletown. We have previously employed a PA in the practice and found it to be a mutually rewarding experience. This full time position was vacated when her husband's company transferred them to Texas.

The position is a full time opportunity working in an office setting. We are an Otolaryngology practice that provides both medical and surgical treatment for diseases of the head and neck. We treat all ages from infancy through geriatric populations. Your duties would involve seeing new and existing patients within the practice. You will work closely with the physicians at first and more independently as your skills and experience increase. Typically, our patients will be presenting with problems such as hearing loss, ear ache, dizziness, cerumen impaction, sore throat, sinusitis, allergy and masses in the head and neck. We have a full time Audiologist on staff that provides a full battery of audiological testing and dispenses hearing aids when appropriate. We also have an allergy department that provides allergy testing and immunotherapy as indicated.

     This full time position is Monday through Friday, days only; no weekends,or holidays. We have an excellant work environment and competitive salary and benefits. Prior PA experience is a plus but we are ready to train the right individual.
