Orthopaedic Surgeon seeks to add a full-time Physician Assistant. The position is focused on treating patients with muscular skeletal problems with emphasis on F&A related injuries. The new PA will eventually have the opportunity to run their own clinic. This position is split between office and the OR. The new PA will provide treatment for fractures, overuse injuries, and work with an Orthopaedic Surgeon by assisting him during surgical procedures. Additional day to day responsibilities include: patient evaluations, injections, removing casts and pins, first assist, reductions, consultation, rounds and patient evaluation and education, writing prescriptions, and reviewing lab results in a clinic setting. Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified/eligible, self starter, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous Orthopaedic experience is not required. New graduates please apply! VA BOSTON HEALTHCARE SYSTEM The Surgical Service is recruiting a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the Cardiac Surgery Section. The primary duty station will be West Roxbury. The tour of duty will be Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The NP/PA facilitates the ordering of diagnostic tests, i.e., lab work, x-rays, consults. Performs non-invasive procedures and minor diagnostic procedures which include: wound debridement and dressing changes; suture/staple removal; chest tube removal; removal of groin lines, left atrial lines, pacing wires; venipuncture; drawing ABG; drawing of blood from central venous lines, A lines, PA lines; suctioning; nasogastric tube insertion; and change CVP line over wire are prescribed according to the client’s health care needs and based on current knowledge, practice, research, protocols in collaboration with the supervisory physician. Nurse Practitioner candidates must be a registered nurse from an NLN accredited university-based program for nurse practitioner, and have a valid and current license as a registered nurse. A master’s degree and certification in a clinical specialty along with three years of successful nursing practice is preferred. Physician Assistant candidates must be a graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician training program of at least 12 months in length and currently certified by the NCCPA.
