Located in moderate sized metropolitan Louisville Kentucky. 

Includes hospital rounds, medical record dictating, setting up surgeries including facilitating room turnover and positioning patients, wound closures and myelograms  and office histories,select physicals and diagnostics,patient education and followup duties.

Average of 42-55h./potential work week, monday through saturday (1/2 day). Limited if any night call.

Benefits include retirement plan (3-10% of base salary), 2 weeks vacation, pre-tax $250 monthly medical insurance allowance, $1500/yr. CME allowance, medical malpractice and practice expence coverages. Base salary commensurate with experience and hours per week available to work ($65-85,000/yr) plus bonus (office employee average currently $2000/yr).

The job does require excellent communication and people skills,and ability to comfortably navigate the operating room with respect to setting up  cases, postioning and closing. In this role, you will be responsible for patient care in conjunction with the Attending Physician. Requirements: 
. Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree or graduate of certified Physician Assistant Program is strongly preferred. Current NCCPA & NJ state license.
. Experience in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases is desired but not required. 
. Broad skills in management of cardiovascular disease, both on general inpatients as well as in critical care highly desirable. Other experience, such as cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, pacing and interventional cardiology is desirable but not mandatory. Approval of credentials and clinical privileges per Center procedure.

Working under the supervision of a cardiac surgeon, provides pre-, intra-, and post-operative care to patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings of a clinical department. Serves as the liaison between departmental physician assistants, faculty and administration. As designated by appropriate administrative staff or physician, assumes supervisory role for departmental physician assistants. Experience must include endoscopic harvest. A relatively high analytical ability is needed to gather, interpret, and present data for clinical evaluation and to assist in the salary planning process. Substantial interpersonal skills are needed to assist in evaluating employees' performance, interact with patients and other health care professionals, and disseminate information to the PA staff.

This position requires the successful completion of an AMA approved two year Physician Assistant's Program. Applicants must be registered/certified by the Maryland Board of Quality Assurance and by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Three to five years of related experience in a health care environment is required. In addition to these specifications, applicants must possess a strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, medical terminology, human behavior, pharmacology, clinical medicine, radiology, microbiology and pathology.
