Los Angeles, California The following is required: working knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology; demonstrated ability to perform patient physical and history assessment; working knowledge of cardiac surgery and care of cardiac surgery patients; demonstrated skill in teaching; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; working knowledge of interdisciplinary resources needed to coordinate patient care and facilitate referral; demonstrated knowledge, skill, and current certification in BCLS and ACLS; demonstrated skill in organizing and prioritizing tasks; and demonstrated ability to read, interpret, apply, and/or follow physician orders, policies, procedures, and written and verbal instructions; demonstrated ability to maintain professional demeanor while working with peers, administrators, and physicians; demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of patient-related information; current California Physician Assistant license. The following is preferred: demonstrated skill in removal of chest tubes, temporary pacing wires, and sutures/staples; working knowledge and skill in wound care and treatment; working knowledge of UCLA policies and procedures.
