Orthopaedic Group seeks a full-time Physician Assistant. The position consists of a minimum of 40% first assist and the balance is office. The new PA will work directly with a General Orthopaedic Surgeon. The PA will handle total joint, knees, general and fracture cases. Responsibilities include: patient evaluations and education, removing casts and pins, consultation, ordering and reviewing lab tests, writing scripts, rounds, injections and first assist. The new PA will have the opportunity to run a clinic. Call coverage is 1/5. Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified. The group will consider a new graduate PA with prior work experience as an Athletic Trainer or Exercise Physiologist. Previous Orthopaedic experience preferred, but will train! The group prefers local candidates and they must have a Florida license or have already applied for one! The new PA will be employed by the Orthopaedic Group and will have a very strong benefits package. The position is located in an upscale community in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area of Florida. NEW YORK (near Albany area) Physician Assistant - Orthopaedic! WILL TRAIN! Job Description Orthopaedic Practice seeks to add a full-time PA to work directly with a General Orthopaedic Surgeon. Procedures performed include: arthroscopic surgery, shoulder and knees, total joints, fracture care and athletic injury. The new PA would eventually run an Orthopaedic Clinic. The PA would spend one to two days in the OR performing first assist. Responsibilities include: H&P's, patient evaluation and education, refers for diagnostic treatment, first assist, review lab results, cortisone injections, treat basic fractures, hospital rounds, casting and splinting within a clinic setting. Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. There is no call coverage and there is some weekend rounding. The practice will train a bright and hard working new graduate. They would prefer candidates that have ties to the upstate New York area. The location is near the Albany area.
