FLORIDA (Jacksonville) (Plastic Surgery) WILL TRAIN!
Job Description Very established and well-known Plastic Surgeon seeks
a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. This position
will be a combination of Office and Surgery (up to three days in the OR).
The practice is focused on reconstruction cases of the hand, rhinoplasty,
breast reconstruction, major lacerations, liposuction and other cases.
The new PA/NP will be responsible for patient evaluation and education,
assisting in the OR, post and pre-operative care, H&P's, bo-tox injections,
review lab results, write prescriptions and manage records. The position
averages 50 hours per week!
Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified. The new PA/NP
must have a minimum of one year PA/NP experience within a surgical setting.
The new PA/NP must have excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated,
be a quick learner and procedural-oriented. The group will train
a new graduate if they have completed a surgical preceptership or fellowship!
Candidates must have ties to the Florida area and have a Florida license
or have started the Florida licensing process.
The new PA/NP will be employed in a large health care institution and
will have a very strong benefits package. The position is located
in an upscale community in the Jacksonville area of Florida. Compensation:
Base salary range: $75k to $90k, plus a new incentive plan is being developed!
Benefits include paid medical, 401k, vacation, CME etc.

ABOUT THE POSITION: Provides primary, preventive and family planning
services to adolescent patients at Oakland Technical High School's at school-based
health centers. This is a 10-month position based on the Oakland
Public School's schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. (Nurse Practitioner): Requires possession of a valid license as
a Registered Nurse issued by the Calif. State Board of Nursing Examiners
and a certificate of completion of Nurse Practitioner program, with emphasis
in the areas of adolescent medicine and a minimum of one year of full-time
clinic experience.
Physician Assistant: Requires graduation from an approved program of
instruction in primary health care, the possession of evidence of having
passed a certified examination administered by the Bureau of Medical Quality
Assurance, and at least two years of full-time clinic experience after
clinical practicum with emphasis in the area of adolescent medicine.
2. Prefer at least two years experience working with adolescents from
diverse cultural backgrounds.
3. Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods and objectives of
modern medicine.
4. Excellent clinical and physical assessment skills.
5. Experience working with community health centers, teen clinics and/or
school-based health centers preferred.
6. Prefer knowledge of adolescent health and social service systems
in Alameda County.
7. Ability and willingness to work under pressure and as part of an
interdisciplinary team.
8. Flexibility in meeting student needs (e.g., seeing unscheduled drop-inpatients
as appropriate); excellent time management skills.
9. Commitment to principles of harm reduction and youth development.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both professional
staff and clients essential.
11. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides routine primary and preventive health care services
to adolescent students, including family planning services, limited urgent
care, and drop-in first aid and triage.
2. Provides health education to patients regarding various health and
medical issues.
3. Helps to manage patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
4. Refers students to outside primary and speciality providers as needed,
and follows up to ensure that patients' medical and psycho-social needs
are being met.
5. Documents all care provided in the patient chart and also as needed
for program evaluation purposes.
6. Participates in quality assurance activities as needed.
7. Provides guidance and consultation to Medical Assistant and Health
Educator in clinical work with patients.
8. Makes suggestions for improvements in clinic flow, patient scheduling
and service delivery.
9. Collaborates professionally with interdisciplinary team members,
including health educator, medical assistant, case manager, clinic supervisor,
and mental health therapist.
10. Acts as a medical resource for health center and school staff as
needed.
11. Attends relevant staff, school and community meetings.
12. Other duties assigned by supervisor.
