Physiology Lab We are currently seeking a qualified professional who is
interested in working closely with our team of colorectal specialists.
The selected candidate will be trained to perform anorectal manometry,
pudendal nerve latency testing and biofeedback retraining of the pelvic
floor muscles. After initial training and mentoring by the colorectal surgeon,
the practitioner will perform the complete evaluation of patients with
complicated pelvic floor dysfunction, colonic inertia and fecal incontinence.
This includes comprehensive history and physical exams prior to initiation
of therapy. The intervention requires the patient be seen and treated independently
by the NP in six 45-60 minute sessions over a follow-up period of approximately
3 months. A critical part of the success of the retraining sessions is
the practitioner´s ability to establish rapport with the patient.
The patients are primarily women and their symptoms have often been neglected
or ignored for many years. Once treated they are extremely grateful patients
