The Physician Assistant provides patient care in support of the surgeon by assisting during surgical procedures. Such care may include, but is not limited to performance of the duties and responsibilities listed below. Acts as a resource person for SpecialtyCare's customers, associates and students. Physician Assistant must be familiar with Cardiothoracic and/or Orthopedic specialties. Also, General, Urological, Plastics, and OB/GYN knowledge is helpful.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE  Holds current certification from National Commission on the Certification of Physicians and meets other Company requirements as a surgical assistant  Requires Certified Physician Assistant with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a surgical assistant. Additional levels of experience as a certified physician’s assistant may vary by position based on clinical and operational needs. Must possess Strong Physician/Surgeon Relationship skills, team first mentality.

Asher Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Wheeler County Oregon. While the rest of the country debates universal access we are providing integrated primary care and dental care to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. Practitioners focus on broad scope patient care with a minimum of bureaucratic overhead.

Experienced Physician Assistant to work 4-day work weeks, rotating on-call. Salary at $65,000-$85,000 per year depends on qualifications and experience. There is a 3% retirement bonus paid at the end of each year. Medical insurance is provided up to $600 per month for the provider and their family. One week paid CME and up to $1,500 CME direct reimbursement for registration and travel is provided annually. Providers earn 3 weeks of paid vacation per year. ACHC is a NHSC loan repayment site and practitioners are eligible for a $5,000 yearly rural tax credit for rural Oregon providers.

Practice Requirements: ACLS/BCLS Certified, DEA License, Eligible or have an Oregon State License. Urgent Care experience, Interpretation of X-Ray, ECG and Laboratory results, Knowledge of Electronic Health Record Systems. Ability to function in a remote area with minimal supervision. Perform venipuncture, injections, start and maintain IV’s, Suture, Splinting and Casting, Perform Minor Surgery and Biopsies. Comfortable caring for full spectrum Family Practice patients of all ages. After hours and weekend call shared for 911 Support, (Evaluate, Treat, and or Triage to another Facility.

Physician Assistant,  Electrophysiology/Cardiology

 An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Electrophysiology/Cardiology department. Under the supervision of an Attending Physician, you will perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive patient care activities. Specifically, you will perform pre-procedure evaluations, including H&P and consent; provide medical care and post-procedure arrhythmia management and evaluation of hospitalized patients and unscheduled walk-ins, including 12 Lead EKG Interpretation, anti-arrhythmic drug and anti-coagulation drug therapy using established protocols and guidelines; develop understanding of Device Management; and first assist in implantation of cardiac devices, EP studies, and Cardiac Ablations. You will also obtain and evaluate the clinical resources provided to patients, incorporate invasive cardiology core measures into your practice, monitor ICD Registry Data Collection and submission in accordance with Regulatory Guidelines, and identify regulatory agencies’ (JCAHO/CMS) requirements related to professional practice.

 To qualify, you must be a graduate of an AMA approved Physician's Assistant Program and have a current registration by the NYS Department of Education as a Registered Physician Assistant (RPA). The ideal candidate will have experience with Electrophysiology/Cardiology. Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is preferred.
