Located in Bracey, VA, near the shores of beautiful Lake Gaston, Tanglewood Family Medicine is now in its 19^th year of serving the lake community.  Dr. Bailey, founder, employs 2 Advanced Practice Providers.  This rural practice is fully self-contained with 9 exam rooms, procedure room, x-ray, full lab, and limited pharmacy.  The closest hospital is 25 minutes away in South Hill, VA.

 The position is full time, 4 days per week.  Dr. Bailey and his Advanced Practice Clinicians have always enjoyed a day off during the week to rest up and take care of all those mid-week things that are hard to accomplish working a 5 day position.  We are open on Saturday mornings, and the 2 Advanced Practice Clinicians and Dr. Bailey rotate these.  The salary is competitive.  There are 10 paid holidays, 2 weeks of paid vacation (in addition to every Tuesday off!), a week of personal leave, and a week of educational leave (with a stipend!).  Full medical and dental, a retirement plan with matching employer funds, fully paid licensure fees and a number of AFLAC policies round out the short list of benefits awaiting the chosen candidate.  Perhaps the greatest benefit is the working relationship we have with one-another.

Upstate NY Physician Assistant  Physician Associate

Single hospital physician-owned group of one MD and four PAs has an upcoming opening due to a military deployment. The position is permanent full time, for PA or NP with minimum of three years emergency medicine experience. Start date is Nov 1, 2011. The 35 bed hospital is located in Hamilton, NY, four hours from NYC, 45 minutes from Syracuse.

Our annual ED volume is 11k. Twelve hour shifts, 8-8. Open position is primarily days, though an occasional night shift will be required for vacation/CME coverage. We are single coverage, so you must be very comfortable practicing the full range of emergency medicine autonomously. The hospital has most basic specialties, an ICU, 24 hour CT and ultrasound, PACS digital radiography system, daytime hospitalist coverage.

Hamilton has a population of about 3700 and is the home of Colgate University. Cost of living is reasonable and affordable housing is available. Four season sports and recreation, as well as abundant cultural opportunities are only steps away.

Base salary is $112k for 36 hours per week. Extra shifts are available if desired. Group pays malpractice, health and life insurance, employer-funded 401K, license, AAPA, SEMPA dues, DEA fees, etc. Three weeks vacation, one week and $2000 for CME, sick time. Signing bonus and relocation expenses are negotiable.

 The Marywood University Department of Physician Assistant Studies seeks a Clinical Instructor for non-tenure track appointment beginning July 1, 2011. The Clinical Instructor will be principally involved working with the other PA Program Faculty with the ongoing assessment, evaluation, and development of the didactic phase of the PA Program.  This faculty member will teach course(s) in areas of expertise, and participate in the Seminar course to involve clinical assessments/evaluations to include: simulated patient experiences, skills instruction and evaluation, documentation, and lectures.  This principal faculty member will assist with academic advisement, assist with clinical site visits, assist in interviewing and candidate selection process, participate and promote scholarship and university service.  Both didactic and clinical teaching is an essential characteristic of the job.
