Physician Assistant, Urology

An outstanding opportunity exists for a Physician Assistant to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive health care services in our Department of Urology. You will provide a broad spectrum of comprehensive medical services, treating patients with physical ailments, which range from superficial injuries to acute medical disorders. In addition, you will assess patient health by interviewing and obtaining and/or updating medical history; perform physical examinations and provide treatment and counseling; and determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and laboratory studies and following-up on x-rays and laboratory data, interpreting diagnostic test results.

The successful candidate will also perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, post-operative care and management of wound care and infections, utilize diagnostic techniques, such as observation, palpation, percussion or auscultation, maintain accurate/complete patient records, develop/implement patient management plans, record procedure and progress notes and discharge summaries, and assist in the provision of continuity of care. We will also look to you to maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring compliance with infection-control policies and protocols and other safety procedures and regulations; develop/provide education related to pre- and post-operative evaluation and treatment plans; provide oversight of all surgical cases related to scheduling and medical clearance; and assist physicians during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Additionally, you may prescribe medication and perform other related duties.
 
To qualify, you must have two years of experience and be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program. A current NYS PA license is also required.

North Texas Rural Health Clinic – Women’s Health / Physician Assistant (Qualifies for Federal Loan Repayment / New or Recent Graduates Encouraged to Apply!)

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to work in a rural health clinic serving the healthcare needs of a predominately female clientele. The Clinic hours are Mon-Fri 8:30am- 5:00pm and one Saturday per month. The Physician Assistant would also be responsible for some light ER call on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Medicine PA Service provides evening and night time admission and coverage of patients being admitted to the medical floors. Both services are also members of the Saint Francis Rapid Response Team.
