Duties include but not necessarily limited to:
Candidate will be responsible for conducting daily rounds with the GYN team; assessing and recording progress and care plans of inpatients; ensuring medication reconciliation is completed after admission; assessing the need of inpatients by initiating or adjusting medication and activity orders; following-up on results of diagnostic studies; coordinating and expediting discharges and assuring the completion of accurate discharge summaries; ordering appropriate diagnostic tests in accordance with level of privileges granted; ordering and interpreting test results and making recommendations to supervising physician; providing back-up in the clinic when needed; performing admission history physicals; plus all related job functions such as; inpatient gynecology, rounds with residents, pre-op management/prep, post-op inpatient management, management of GYN patients admitted for medical reasons, respond to in-house consult requests, respond to ER consult requests, assist in the labor room if requested and assist in outpatient GYN if requested.

Hours (tentative): Monday-Friday 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Qualified applicants will be graduates of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program with 3 year’s of experience. Candidates are required to be eligible or registered by the NYS Department of Education and certified by the NCCPA as a Physician Assistant (RPA).
