Duke University PA Program Durham, NC Applications are invited for a Clinical Coordinator position in the Duke Physician Assistant Program. This position is a full-time faculty position in the Master of Health Sciences PA Program, with one day per week allotted for clinical practice. The Duke PA Program, first in the country, is expanding its class size and has recently moved to a new facility. Our clinical year faculty team identifies and recruits preceptors and facilities, places and monitors students on clinical rotations, and is responsible for evaluation of students during the clinical year. Clinical Coordinators also teach in the preclinical year and serve as student advisors. Committee service at the program and departmental level required. East Carolina University Greenville, NC Professor/Associate Professor East Carolina University (ECU) Physician Assistant (PA) Program welcomes applications for one full-time (12 month appointment) faculty position. Methodist University Fayetteville, NC 28311 Two New Faculty Needed Methodist University is seeking two full-time, tenure-track faculty members. One position is for an additional clinical coordiator and one is for a full-time didactic teaching faculty. Minimum requirements for the positions include a master’s degree, a minimum of 3 years of clinical practice as a physician assistant, eligibility for unrestricted licensure to practice in North Carolina and current certification by the NCCPA. Previous teaching experience is required for the full-time didactic faculty position and is desirable for the clinical coordinator but not required. Full-time faculty are expected to maintain practice skills and are given one day weekly to engage in clinical practice. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with level of education as well as professional and academic experience. Responsibilities for the clinical coordiantor include but are not limited to: providing liaison with clinical preceptors, coordinating and teaching in the didactic and clinical phases of the program, arranging clinical rotation sites, student advising, routine clinical site and preceptor visits, curriculum development, scholarly activites and and community service. Responsibilities for the full-time didactic faculty member include but are not limited to: providing liaison with other teaching faculty and the academic coordiator, teaching in the didactic phase of the program, student advising, teaching and overseeing student research studies, curriculum monitoring and development, serving on test committees, scholarly activites and community service. Methodist University Physician Assistant Program is a seven semester graduate program with an enrollment of 34 students each year. The program admitted its first class in 1996 and received 5 years accreditation during its last ARC-PA visit in June 2007. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. The position is open due to the Doctor's existing PA leaving the area. The position consists of three days in the Clinic and the balance in the OR. This Doctor handles total joints, knee and shoulders and fractures cases. Responsibilities include: provide H&P's, patient evaluation and education, joint injections, rounding, writing scripts, casting and splinting, ordering and reviewing lab results in a clinic setting.
