New York – Hospitalist

 

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Family or Acute Care) for a hospitalist position in far upstate New York. Will consider an experienced provider or new graduate. Other providers on site. Schedule will be M-F, 8a – 5p. 1 in 5 call and no weekends. Anticipated patient volume will be 10-15 ppd. EMR. High level of autonomy for an experienced provider. This PA will be part of a closely linked physician/PA team that provides inpatient consults, outpatient clinical services, and (to a limited degree) nursing home consults for patients with chronic wounds. The majority of the PA's time will be spent in the inpatient units doing wound consults and debridements.

Experience with wound healing services and/or good soft tissue procedural skills are a plus. It is crucial that this be a team player who works well within the team, interfaces well with a large variety of colleagues, and enjoys caring for chronically ill, disabled patients and their families. We are working for someone who is energetic, able to work independently, enjoys coming up with new ideas, and is enthusiastic about participating in this growing service.

In terms of minimum requirements, I think that to be successful in this position the candidate would need a minimum of 2 years' experience including substantial experience in an inpatient setting.  It is Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Looking for my replacement!  I need to find my replacement for this solo orthopaedic surgeon whose practice is growing! 

This position involves clinical duties with hours Mon-Thurs 8-5pm and Fridays 8-12 noon with optional surgical time.  You will establish your own clinic and take over mine.  The ability to inject, aspirate, cast, reduce fractures, order and interpret labs, MRI, CT, and x-rays is necessary or have the desire to learn.  Sports available too.  We are the team providers for a local college’s sports teams and provide on field coverage for their #4 ranked DIII football team.  We also provide on field coverage for a local high school’s football team. 

Call schedule is minimal.  Minimal in-patient rounding is required. Dictate pre-op H & Ps and D/C summaries with time provided on Tuesdays.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  Productivity bonus. Medical benefits provided for candidate and family. 401(K).  4 weeks PTO to include two CME courses per year fully paid for by practice.
