Physician Assistant Faculty 

The Barry University Physician Assistant Program is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated professional to fill a new faculty position at the rank of assistant/associate professor. This individual will participate in both didactic and clinical aspects of the program curriculum. These include lecturing, small group instruction, testing and evaluation, course and clinical site management and evaluation, scholarly activities, as well as serving as a mentor and advisor to students. Faculty members also participate in school and university level service activities.

The 28 month masters curriculum is delivered simultaneously via interactive videoconference to students in Miami Shores and St. Petersburg, Florida. The program embraces the use of advanced technology in teaching and clinical instruction.  Applicants must have graduated from an accredited PA program, hold current NCCPA certification, have a master’s degree in a health related area, and be eligible for licensure in the state of Florida. Applicants must have previous teaching experience in medical education in academic and/or clinical settings. Preference will be given to candidates with: experience in health care delivery to diverse patient populations; a doctorate in a health related field with demonstrated commitment to scholarly research, as evidenced by publications in peer reviewed journals or works in progress; demonstrated excellence in communication, organizational and team skills; highly developed information and /or educational technology skills. Rank and salary will be commensurate with highest degree and experience. An excellent comprehensive benefits package is offered. The appointment may include one day of release time so the faculty member may maintain clinical skills.

Clinical Faculty
Physician Assistant Studies Program

Augsburg College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as a clinical faculty member of the Physician Assistant Program in Minneapolis, MN, to start April 1, 2010.
Augsburg´s program is a 3-year Master of Science in PA studies program. This position has responsibility for development and maintenance of clinical sites for the Augsburg PA students. This includes development of course descriptions, learning objectives and required evaluation activities for clinical phase students, student advising and frequent travel to clinical sites.

Qualifications for the position include Masters degree in PA studies, PA certification, excellent interpersonal skills, interest in and knowledge of educational activities necessary for the acquisition and maintenance of current standard of care required for optimal patient care. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

MCPHS offers leading edge educational programs that prepare students to succeed in contemporary health practice and related professions. MCPHS is located in the heart of Boston´s Longwood medical and academic area, and is a member of the Colleges of the Fenway consortium. This position is a 12-month appointment.

In consultation with the PAS Dean and Program Director, faculty engages in teaching, scholarship, and service activities. Specific responsibilities include: Coordinating and/or teaching didactic courses, participating in clinical-related activities, participating in the development of curriculum, achieving and maintaining compliance with ARC-PA standards, serving as an ambassador for the PAS Program through participation in service activities, serving on faculty committees, maintaining a program of scholarly productivity appropriate to academic rank, participating in professional development activities, performing other duties as assigned by the PAS Program or Medical Director.

A minimum of a master´s degree is required, along with current PA national certification, eligibility for MA state licensure, a minimum of three years clinical experience, and strong organizational and PC skills. Higher education experience preferred.
