Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Coordinator: This position requires direct clinical responsibilities in teaching and mentoring as well as administrative leadership within the core group of general, thoracic, urology, bariatric, vascular, ortho and neurosurgery services. Scheduling of Full time and per diem staff that ensures patient safety and adequate coverage for surgeons b. Keep schedule up and maintained 2 months in advance c. Provide flexible scheduling d. Track, schedule and record requests for ETO e. Ensure that each Clinical Affiliate is afforded the ability to take the ETO that they have earned f Ensure that Surgical Clinical Affiliates are aware of policies and procedures and are in compliance. g Understand the strategic and operational plans for the hospital and how they relate to the Surgical Clinical Affiliate Service and the C Clinical Affiliate Department as a whole · Coach, mentor and provide opportunities for improvement of individual staff members · Work with Educational Coordinator to ensure proper surgical and medical orientation for each new employee · Assessment of operating room skills at six months and 1 year for new employees · Ensure that each member of the team has completed hospital mandatory in-services · Ensure proper educational activities are available for staff a. provide time for educational opportunities such as the PIG lab or robotic training, sim training b.
